I Heart Faces: Anything but a Face.

This week's i heart faces photo challenge is a photo that does not need a face clearly showing.
I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use.

I had taken this photo of Ethan while we were in the backyard.
He was in a wonderful mood, acting very silly and hamming it up for the camera (something he's not doing too much of these days).
He was so intent on finding a bug, any bug, that afternoon and he was searching through the grass when I took this.
I love the way the light gives so much color to his fantastic head of hair. Something I am quite jealous about I might add.

Storytelling.

Ethan's imagination is growing by the day.
Here's the proof.
Apparently I should remember that we went on a spaceship and he couldn't reach me.

Up Close: Jacob.

I could just eat him up.

Worms.

A good portion of our morning was spent digging for worms.
I'm not a fan.
I don't consider myself a girlie girl but I don't like worms.
Ethan on the other hand has a new found love for them.
And bugs, and spiders, and mud, and dinosaurs.
Boy stuff.
But I'll keep my disgust for worms to myself and dig in our backyard, since it makes my boy so very happy.

I Heart Faces: Phone Photo Challenge

Every week a site I like, i heart faces, has a photo challenge that is open for submissions. The judges pick 10 of their favorite photos.
I've never entered a photo before, but I'm taking a chance this week.

This weeks submissions are for photos taken with a cell phone.
It's amazing how great some of the photos we take our cell phones turn out, don't you think?
I know you've seen this photo but it's the best photo I've taken with my phone lately.
Actually it's one of the best photos I've taken period.

I love that it's black and white, grainy, and looks like a Polaroid.
And I love that it's of my handsome little man.

Wish me luck.

Dreaming.

I'm dreaming of going back to Tahiti.
Sitting on the porch of my own little private hut, watching the sun rise and sipping Tahitian coffee.
Someday...we will go back someday.

My Sweet Boy.

Sometimes he seems so big to me, but then a picture like this reminds me that he's still my sweet baby boy.

Our Valentine's Day.

When I woke up in the morning I was grumpy.
Jacob had slept horribly and at 6am I had already declared Valentine's Day as ruined.
I was being a grouch.
By 8am I decided I needed to change my attitude.
Sweet stuff always makes me feel better so when Ethan woke up we made these.
I realized that I had never made blueberry pancakes before. It will definitely be happening more often.

We then headed over to my sister's house for a Valentine's party with all the kids.

Trying to get a picture with all five kids is pretty much impossible right now.

I love having nieces because I get to buy them all the cute girlie stuff, especially at Valentine's day, that I don't get to buy for my boys.

My sister made edible play dough and finger paint which was obviously a hit.

Jacob slept most of the party but he sure did look cute in this Valentine's Day get-up.
When we got home from my sister's we had no power.
That meant I couldn't open the fridge so I wasn't able to make the dinner I had planned for the night.
So Brett had to get take-out...Bummer.
After dinner the boys opened their gifts from me, we had ice cream sundaes, then watched a movie. I also tried to get a picture of the boys together. It was not happening.

Brett and I never really do much for one another on Valentine's Day but one thing is for sure, he knows the way to my heart is not through flowers, but through sweets.
A nice way to end the evening.
It was a great first Valentine's Day with my all my boys.

It's Raining.

So naturally we go outside with bare feet, jump in the puddles and put rain water in eachother's hair.

Ok, I'll confess.
We had no idea this was going on until they were soaking wet. But they were giggling uncontrollably and having such a great time that there was no way we were going to stop them.
Happy Rainy Wednesday To You!

Recently.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm not sharing any of our Valentine's Day festivities yet since the day isn't over, but hopefully I will be able to in the next day or so.
In the mean time I thought I'd share of few photos of the boys and what they've been doing.

Jacob is getting happier and happier by the day. His sleeping is still not the best, but I have high hopes that it'll get better soon.
Oh, and he got his first tooth the other day.
Mr. Happy

I love how peaceful he looks while sleeping.

I love little baby feet and little baby shoes.
Ethan is getting smarter by the minute. He's talking up a storm and getting really clever. I am continually amazed at how he takes everything in and forms new ideas and opinions. He's really starting to get quite the imagination too.
And he doesn't want me to take his picture anymore, which is breaking my heart.
I've never seen a kid eat so much fruit. He could eat fruit all day long.

He made Valentines full of glitter.

He's become quite the helper these days.
He's yelling, "Get to work."
His "special cookies". He just licks of the sprinkles and frosting.

Have a wonderful rest of your Valentine's Day!

I'm Spicing Things Up: Corn Dog Muffins.

Last night I made Corn Dog Muffins.
Sounds weird, I know, but they are super good.
My sister found the recipe here and made them a couple of weeks ago. Ethan loved them so I thought I'd give them a try.
They are super easy to make and fun for the little ones to help out.

These would be fun for a party as mini muffins too.
Go have fun and whip up some muffins!

Electrical Tape.

I'm not sure why electrical tape is so fascinating but apparently it is.
And it's stuck all over my house.

Here and There.

I've decided that I can't blog that often.
I just don't have the time.
There's a lot that goes on around here daily and I'm finding that I have more and more to write about but I don't have time to post it.
I'll post as often as I can, and want to, but it will kind of be a mixture of happenings when I do.
Here's the first of what will probably be many ramblings.

I don't have many pictures with my little man and I like this one, so I thought I'd share.

We went to Monster Truck Jam this past weekend.
Ethan had a blast and of course his favorite was Grave Digger.
I love the big headphones and I love that he wanted to wear them the whole time.

Ethan has formed quite an obsession with tongs lately. Yep, that's right, tongs of all things.
So we made up a new game.
Pick up all the play fruit and veggies with the tongs, put them in the basket, then dump it out again.
 He's very serious about it.
Forget expensive toys that you can't afford, just get some tongs and play food. Hours of entertainment.

Ethan and his cousin JT are super cool.

I bought this camera strap the other day.
I've been looking for a strap for awhile but nothing had caught my eye until I saw this one.
Plus the little stitched camera batch is too much fun.
If you want one go here to Knitty Bitties.
Her stuff is super cute.

Jacob slept for 7 hours straight last night and woke up happy.
This makes me one happy Mama. And he's got the cutest little face ever.

We went to the park today and fed the ducks.
I'm loving Abby's outfits of choice lately.
Jacob chilled and hung out with Great Grandma.
 Baby Lucy slept.
And Ethan collected pine cones.
It's been a good day.
Actually it's been a good week.
