Here and There.

Oh my sad, sad blog that I've been neglecting so much lately.
Life's been busy and blogging has been lower on my to-do list.
I miss it and I miss reading my fave bloggers out there but life happens, which ultimately is better when not sitting behind a computer screen.

I thought I would just share some random thoughts today since I really don't feel like folding the laundry.

First and foremost I finally have an iPhone.
Holla!!
I'm more than happy to have a phone that actually works. From what I'm told this phone will do more than I can even imagine.
I'm most happy that I can now join the world of Instagram.
Find me there, I'm Adrian Lewis @adielewis, and let's share photos shall we.
While I am super excited about the iPhone I'm also a bit overwhelmed. I think I'm on information overload right about now.
Any iPhone tips or recommended apps will be much appreciated.

It was really windy outside a couple of weeks ago but the boys wanted outside.
They rode their bikes and wore beanies...so cute.

Thanks to Pinterest I did this little experiment with the boys.
Baking soda, vinegar and food coloring. Wonderful!

Brett and I took the boys to a park on the beach the other day.
We had never been and it was newly remodeled.
Of course the kids loved it and we loved that it was so close to the water.
Oh how I love living in Southern California.

Some other things....
*We decided we're going to San Diego this summer for a couple of days and we'll be visiting the San Diego Zoo. Yay!  Ethan loves elephants these days and I can't wait to see his face when he sees one up close.
*Brett and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary next month with a night away from the kids. Double Yay!
*I don't think I've mentioned it here, but our master bathroom is finally done. Well all except a couple small things. I'll try to take pictures soon.

I'm off to eat a few cookies. It's been that kind of a day and I have Zumba tonight so that makes it ok, right?

InstaFriday.

Oh wait, it's Sunday?
How did that happen?
I haven't been taking many pictures with my "big" camera so I thought I should do a cell phone dump.
This is not a weeks worth of photos but rather a couple weeks.
I just didn't want to forget some of these when I go back and look at this blog years from now.
(will that really happen?)

Anyway, here goes...

I went to the little tiny concert with my sister a couple weeks ago.
The music was great and we went to a Persian restaurant afterwards.
That was some seriously good food.
I feel Jacob and little Lucy will be the best of friends.
I'm forcing it.
Ethan had his first haircut at SuperCuts. He usually goes to the woman that cuts Brett's hair but we forgot that picture day was the next day so we had to go to SuperCuts. He was not happy about it.
I'm so happy we have Disneyland passes.
Brett and I were able to get away for one morning and we had a wonderful brunch overlooking the water.
I got to drive the little ones around the other day for a bit.
 Cousin Train.
We went to the park in the morning one day.
It was cold but we needed to go.
We had gone to breakfast beforehand and Ethan consumed way too much syrup.
All that energy needed to go somewhere and the park is always perfect.

Ethan and I made a trip to Costco, on a Sunday, craziness!
This little lounger was killing me.
I really think my mom needs to buy a few for around her pool.
Hint, hint.
I lost Jacob the other day and found him here.
He had opened the door, pulled the clothes out and climbed inside.
The things he can do just amaze me and terrify me all at once.
We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese for the first time.
It wasn't as gross and horrific as I thought it would be.
They wanted to go in the monster truck that bounces around but 10 seconds in Ethan was near tears and trying to climb out.
He swore the thing was going to toss him right on out.
It was hard not laugh.
My Grandpa celebrated his 75th birthday this week.
We're going to dinner tonight (without little kids) to celebrate.
Since the little kids won't be there we celebrated with cupcakes on Friday.
My Grandparents have 7 great grandkids.
I love that my kids have Grandparents and Great Grandparents.
Lucky kids!

Peas.

Last week at Ethan's preschool the kids were learning about life on the farm.
Each child got to pick a vegetable they wanted to plant and watch grow.
Ethan chose peas.
Funny since he hates peas and could have picked a vegetable he likes, such as carrots.
I love him for things like this.
On Tuesday we brought his little cup of sprouting peas home.
Only problem, I don't know how to make them grow.
So I got online and started researching what kind of soil to get, how much sunlight they need, how much water to give them.
I surely don't want them to die from lack of care, can you imagine the disappointment on Ethan's face.
They need to be cared for and nourished.
Much like our relationship with God.
How often do we sit and wither away with too little sun, not enough water, and inadequate soil?
I know I do.
I know that for my relationship with God to be fed I need to research, read, apply, and grow.
Oh how I've disappointed the Lord at times for not doing these things.
I started a bible study a couple of weeks ago and I'm being challenged like I haven't been in a long time.
I'm learning about myself, what God wants from me and what I need to be giving Him.
It's a great feeling and I'm loving every minute of the study.
But most of all I'm growing, slowly, but growing, much like Ethan's little cup of peas.

Jacob.

My little baby is a year and a half.
Which really makes him not so much of a baby anymore.
I'm refusing to call him a toddler, he's still a baby.

He had his 18 month check up and he's healthy as can be.
He's right on track with all his milestones and the doctor has no worries.

He's talking up a storm and each day he seems to acquire a new word.
My favorite thing he says right now is, "I pilled" (spilled), in this high little questioning voice.
Sometimes he speaks in full babbling sentences and looks at us like we should know exactly what he is saying.
Other times he speaks so clearly I almost think it's Ethan.
Oh and the animation.
When he says something is yucky, he pulls his arm all the way back and does a full sweeping motion across his chest while saying, "ackey" in the deepest most disgusted voice possible.
Another favorite of mine.

His big blue eyes make me melt and sometimes it's so hard to be stern with him.
(I'm actually a bit of a softy when it comes to both boys.)
He's adventurous and nearly gives me a heart attack each day with his dare devilish ways.

He likes his trucks and cars, and prefers to be outside.
He enjoys going for bike rides around the block and watching Wall-E.
He seriously could watch it 5 times a day if we let him.

He's determined and strong, and can put up a good fight.
He's becoming more independent and opinionated each day.

I so love this boy.

Here and There.

How about a bit of random today?
Here you go.

Even though it's not officially spring yet I've started some spring decorating.
Which really means, Ethan is making some spring crafts.
I love these little bird houses from Michael's. I mean, a dollar! Can't beat that!
He was so careful to fill in every spot with color, all but one side, don't ask me why.
Oh and you can't see it but there's glitter paint on it too. Awesome.

I'm making a chicken salad for dinner tonight with these fine ingredients. Yum!

I started a bible study this morning with a group of ladies I don't know, well all but one.
This is way out of my comfort zone but this fell into my lap and I knew I needed to do it.
Everyone was very nice and welcoming, and my nervousness soon disappeared.
I'm looking forward to the next 9 weeks.
Have you done a Beth Moore bible study?
She's intense but I like her.

Lastly, this is how Jacob could spend all of his time.
If only I had a quarter of that energy. Geesh!!
