Master Bathroom Remodel {part 2}.

Oh goodness it's been over a week and this little blog here has sat quiet.

Actually I haven't thought about blogging much these last few weeks.

I guess I sometimes just need a break from it all.

I mean I haven't looked at Pinterest in like 5 days. 

What? Craziness I tell you.

Anyway, I snapped a few pictures of our master bathroom remodel today.

I had intended on taking more pictures along the way, but you know how that goes.

So here's the progress so far.

The new vanity and counter top has been installed. 

The new sinks are ready to be hooked up.

And we have these nice little custom shelves on both sides which will be painted white. 

The shower is almost complete.

I am in love with the tile. In Love. 

You can't tell in the pictures but the shower floor has the same hexagon tile.

I love hexagon tile. 

I would have put all over the bathroom floor but I didn't want the hassle of cleaning the grout.

Speaking of floors, I'm also in love with our new floor. 

It's a little dusty in these pictures so it looks a bit lighter than it actually is.

I love the distressed wood look and yet it's tile. 

Much more user friendly for a bathroom than real wood.

I've also decided on a paint color.

Can you figure out which one?

Ok, I'll tell.

It's the one on the right. 

We're hoping just another couple of weeks before it's all finished.

We're getting close and I've loving it!

Oh and does anyone else want to remodel their whole house just because they started one project?

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Master Bathroom Remodel {part 1}.

This was my master bathroom.

Not the best, but not the worst either.

Our biggest problem was this...

The tile on the floor, which really is wall tile, started to crack and chip. And once you start pulling out tile chances are the next one will crack and the next and the next. 

So we thought about just replacing the floor. 

But the floor tile leads into the shower tile.

So we thought about replacing just the floor and shower tile.

But we really did need a new toilet, which we've been saying for 2 years.

And 2 sinks really would be nice.

So we ripped it all out.

This was after demo was complete.

Today it looks like this...

 Plumbing, electrical, and framing complete.

At the end of the day we will have new tile, 2 sinks, a larger more open shower, a new toilet, new lights, a new cabinet (less storage), and new paint.

I can't wait for it to be finished. 

I'm just hoping it looks as good finished as it does in my head.

Bedroom Updated.

I'll start out by saying that I have always loved our bedroom. The color of the walls, the furniture and the bedding. I haven't always loved the decor in our bedroom. When we moved into our house we threw up some artwork we already had, put some random frames here and there, but nothing really matched or flowed. 

In redoing the kids room I came to the conclusion that the framed artwork I had in there was not going to work. Two big wooden frames with glass hanging over Ethan's head while sleeping is no good since we live in California. 

But I love the artwork and didn't want to get rid of them, so I moved them to our room.

I love it. They match perfectly and add so much to the walls. We only had one framed picture over the dresser before and nothing on the other wall. This has made the room so much cozier.

(Sorry no before pics, but my pregnant mind is not thinking clearly lately.)

I added a new lamp...$30 from Pier 1 on sale, deal!

 

I found this cute little dish at an estate sale this weekend, perfect for Brett's watch and miscellaneous stuff.

Then I filled these 2 jars with some shells I had left over from Ethan's 1st birthday and placed them on our bookcase.

And last but not least I ordered this cute little pillow from Pottery Barn to add to our bed.

I had some money left over from a gift card, and I waited for it to go on sale, so I only spend about $10. 

I can't wait for it to get here.

It's amazing how just a few little additions can drastically change the look of a room.

I'm really happy with all of it.

And Ethan is too!

What a Difference...

...a door makes.

We had new doors put in our house and I am super thrilled. 

Our old doors were flimsy, crooked, didn't close well, had huge gaps at the bottom, and had some holes in them.

Our new doors are sturdy, close tightly, have small gaps at the bottom, and reduce the noise throughout the house greatly. The last reason was the biggest reason of all. We wanted to make the rooms as quite as possible for when the new baby gets here.

I love them! They are perfect and I couldn't be happier.
