I Heart Faces: Friendship

When I saw this week's challenge at I Heart Faces I knew of just the photo I wanted to submit.

This is my favorite photo to date of my niece Abby and Ethan.
I love the way Ethan is squeezing her from behind and the look on both of their faces.
They were having so much fun that day, playing in the rain barefoot, rubbing rainwater in each other's hair.
They are the greatest of friends and I hope they will be forever.

I Heart Faces: Motherhood

I was not planning on entering a photo on I Heart Faces this week.
I love this week's challenge but I did not have a photo in mind.
Then I stumbled across this photo...
I took it a couple of weeks ago when Ethan and I were playing around with my camera.
He was taking pictures of himself in our floor length mirrors.
After playing for about 20 minutes, and taking about 100 photos, I had told him it was time to stop and he was thoroughly disappointed.
So I picked him up and held him for a minute and reassured him we had another fun activity planned right around the corner.
I happened to snap this photo on a whim.
It's not the most glamorous picture ever taken.
My hair is a mess, the closet door is open, the sheets on my bed are not straight, I look pregnant, but to me it is the definition of motherhood.
I little frazzled, not perfect, but stopping everything to comfort your little one.

I Heart Faces: Sun Flare.

This week's challenge is a photo with sun flare. I knew just the one I wanted to use.
I took this photograph months ago when my sister had asked me to help her photograph a wedding with her.
I fell in love with this photo the instant I took it.
It was a perfect representation of this fun, young couple on their wedding day.

I Heart Faces: Anything but a Face.

This week's i heart faces photo challenge is a photo that does not need a face clearly showing.
I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use.

I had taken this photo of Ethan while we were in the backyard.
He was in a wonderful mood, acting very silly and hamming it up for the camera (something he's not doing too much of these days).
He was so intent on finding a bug, any bug, that afternoon and he was searching through the grass when I took this.
I love the way the light gives so much color to his fantastic head of hair. Something I am quite jealous about I might add.

I Heart Faces: Phone Photo Challenge

Every week a site I like, i heart faces, has a photo challenge that is open for submissions. The judges pick 10 of their favorite photos.
I've never entered a photo before, but I'm taking a chance this week.

This weeks submissions are for photos taken with a cell phone.
It's amazing how great some of the photos we take our cell phones turn out, don't you think?
I know you've seen this photo but it's the best photo I've taken with my phone lately.
Actually it's one of the best photos I've taken period.

I love that it's black and white, grainy, and looks like a Polaroid.
And I love that it's of my handsome little man.

Wish me luck.
